When packaged, the winch and handle are separate and need to be assembled as per the instructions included. Failing to assemble as per the instruction could result in non-actuation of the braking mechanism. To assemble, the handle adaptor is turned clockwise until the ratchet is engaged prior to attaching the handle and securing with screw.
