If the cleats are not required, they can easily be removed with the tool provided. This makes the overshoe suitable for uses where the cleats would get in the way e.g snowshoeing
BE SURE TO TIGHTEN THE SPIKES PRIOR TO WEARING THE FIRST TIME AND ALSO AFTER EACH USE.
